VDL Groep continues to work on reducing its impact on the climate. By 2025, concrete steps have been taken once again: with more than 650 energy-saving measures, energy consumption has been further improved and the share of sustainable electricity has increased to approximately 30%. Important steps have also been made in circularity, with recycled materials and reuse in the supply chain being utilised more frequently.
Innovation plays a key role here. From battery storage and hydrogen solutions to smart energy hubs: we develop and industrialise technologies that contribute to a future-proof industry. At the same time, we work together with partners to address grid congestion and energy storage challenges. In this way, we gradually build a more efficient, cleaner, and scalable manufacturing industry.

We continue to invest in craftsmanship, training and sustainable employability, amongst other things through apprenticeship programmes, our own academies and collaborations with educational institutions.
Working safely and healthily is central. Programmes around vitality and preventive medical examinations have been further expanded and contribute to the sustainable deployment of our people. At the same time, we continue to focus on diversity and inclusion, with an increase in the proportion of women in technical roles. In this way, we create a working environment where talent can develop and collaboration makes the difference.

As a family business, VDL Group is closely connected to society. By 2025, we have further strengthened our role through collaboration with governments, knowledge institutions, and partners, including in the Brainport region and through investments in innovation, employment, and infrastructure.
We actively contribute to societal initiatives in the fields of sport, education, and well-being, among others through the VDL Foundation and partnerships with regional organisations. At the same time, we invest in strategic themes such as defence, energy, and high-quality manufacturing, thereby contributing to safety, economic strength, and future-proof technology in Europe.
